A Day's Worth of Rain
Sexy pitter-patter words
tumble out of bed
begging directions
for the holes in my umbrella
while the pc whore on the desk
opens her legs & yawns
getting ready to chew on spit
Well screw you, honey
this morning
for once
rain or not
I'm taking a walk
Escape breathes a life of its own
hugging the Avenue's
heady green wall
where that no good God
has scrawled me
a magpie with a twisted tail
It seems the Devil's cat
wasn't quite quick enough last night
so I get those beady eyes of contempt
sneering black & white graffiti
ready to shit and fly--
with no sign of a mate
I pass a band of smoker comrades
their outdoor banishment
leaning against a wall
kidding each other to death
in a huddle of grim laughter
as the shriek of tobacco calls
Do I feel envy
after all these years--
not for brown fingered memories
& phlegm
Mistress nicotine
you were crazy,
screw you too
The rough sleeper behind the market
has disappeared
There's not a trace of his long grey beard
If only we had talked
but I wish him a bed in hostel-heaven
a better kind of hell
or at least a pillow
not a bag for his head
It feels like a bad day to die
Time the murderer
is still refusing to run backwards
while I'm running out of magic
walking nowhere
with a broken shoe
I mutter to that no good God:
Give me back my childhood
Free me
from the weight of the world
but I'm as certain as a sheet of rain
no-one
fixes anything
today

I'm only 16 really, Mr A - but sometimes when it rains I forget to sit up straight in my chair - which makes the whole world seem strange.

Has a detatched/resigned care kind of atttitude, which i liked. As if you are painting a hazy, black and white image and you dont really feel like you are a a part of it anymore. Great work. :)
