Mining Pearl Harbor

One was a proud recruit, an officer, named Jason Tack
One was an owner, an entrepreneur, Mason Black
The first man loved his Hawaiian military base
The other enjoyed his office and solitary space
Tack had a soft temper and love for his family
Black had a dark soul and stayed alone quite happily
Mixed patriotism and social conditions led one here
The other only hoped his stock prices led this year
It was a quiet morning, Tack was enjoying breakfast cereal
While Black sat back, making sure to re-check his material
Good stuff, Tack stood up to drop off the dirty dishes
Black was on track to fulfill all his murky wishes
Suddenly the earth shook, Tack and others exchanged terse looks
While Black sat down in a restaurant with diverse cooks
The alarm went off, Tack panicked, what is the meaning?
Black sat down casually at his business meeting
"Air raid! This is not a drill positions everyone!"
"Gentlemen, thanks for coming, this has barely begun"
Tack was unprepared, outside were body parts and craters
Black was prepared, he laid out all the charts and data
Training kicked in, he made a run for nearby munitions
"I completed the task you've asked, I'd like my commission"
Approaching a fighter jet, so close now he might be able....
The businessman extended his hand, took a case from the table
BOOM! Another bombing run, the jet exploded violently
Black rifled through the money, each huge stack noted silently
Dazed, Tack looked at the blazing destruction all around
"My fee is small, with those contracts your riches will abound"
Tack realized slowly he was bleeding, laying on the ground
"I've covered all tracks, our role here will never be found"
Ample shrapnel from the blast had pierced his stomach and neck
The summit had met! No worries of a plummet to debt
Countless other soldiers suffered the same fate nearby
And all it meant was the death of those I'll never hear cry
Tack choked, coughed blood, desperately struggling to hold on
Black laughed, ready to leave as he finished off a cold one
As he left the world behind he pictured his child and spouse
As he left the building he had something to smile about
