strangled

 a spreading feeling of emptiness is slowly swallowing me alive
eating my very soul i feel as if i am be devoured

gazing at this life in the haziness that is my mind
reaching for that fleeting glimpse of the salvation one more time

am i merely a pawn who once was a dazzling prince
or was i always the evil troll drooling over the fence

i look at memories almost forgotten with the passage of time
all the smiling faces i recall seem to be doing fine

why was i the chosen the one to be cast aside
who rolled my dice for me and decided to destroy my mind

all of the old ones walked the same trails as me
so where along the way did i turn on my own

walk into this dark forest chocked with lifes desires
choose a path of misery that brought me to hells fire
