Demons
I take my medication - just like they tell me to
Off to bed
I fall into deep sleep
No worries
Then in the blink of an eye, I am with the ones I love
No worries
Then darkness consumes my world
Demons possess the ones that I love
I ask them what is wrong but they just stare at me and smile
They look hungry
I back away as I cower in fear
I run out the door
The chase begins
There is nobody around
Nobody but me and the one chasing me
I don't know who they are because I cannot see their face
I look behind my shoulder as I run through empty neighborhoods at the dead of night
But nobody is there
I keep running
I know they are still there
Stalking me
Waiting to pounce on their helpless prey
I feel them watching me
I turn around again
Nothing
I hear something and run to the nearest house and start rapping on the door
I beg to be let in
They finally answer and I run inside
I know I am not safe
I will never be safe
But yet I still beg for them to lock the door and not let anybody in
Somebody knocks on the door ever so lightly
It sends chills down my spine
They open the door
"Your friend is here!"
They are not my friend
That "friend" has become the only thing that I fear
I run out back before I get a chance to see my "friend's" face
I hide the best I possibly can
I don't breathe-I can't breathe
I know that they know where I am
But there is no more use in running
I cannot move
I cannot hear them or see them
I blink and then they are right in front of me
I have been exposed
I cannot look away
They are so beautiful
Suddenly I don't care what happens
I am mesmerized be this horrifying creature
They smile
I smile
They look hungry
I snap back to reality and I realize that something terrible is going to happen
They lean in---
I wake up
Time to get ready for the day
