TSI-TSA-LA-GI!
I am not white
get it through your head
my people bent their wayS to maintain the peace
what did they do to us?
they made us walk, and walk we did
we walked until most of us died
they made us leave our land
our warriors tried to make peace
they hurt us abused us betrayed us
the other tribes hate us
betrayal on all sides
I'm not white
drums of war beat in my blood
MY TRIBE! MY NATION!
TSI-TSA-LA-GI!

It's good to have pride in your heritage. It's a world of ignorant, insensitive people we get to live amongst.
My grandfather told stories of his grandfather...from the Shawnee Tribe in Illinois. Growing up we made an annual drive from Louisiana to San Fran where my grandmother was from.
3 day trip with frequent stops at rest areas to make a pot of coffee (one of my prized memories of them) and a stop each way at a different tribe so we grandchildren saw the beauty and the plight of Native America.
Another stirring write.
