      To look beyond merely seeing...

              See the man inside me

                         Examine me as a novel

                         crease the spine

                         the bent pages tell my story

                         you read well between each line

                         Skin as ink-stained parchment

                         marked by tales of time

                         My portrait

                         stretched canvas exterior

                         wraps around a study of...

                         paint splashed interior

                         It's frame of life...

                         unfinished

                 

                         As light's prism spills in many hues

                         choose a shade at will

                         a rainbow of colors

                         from my heart does spill

                         A mural of lessons learned

                         bits and pieces of shattered life

                         artfully arranged, displayed in a pattern

                         pleasing to eyes

                         uneven around the lines



                     Strip away the layers

                     peel away the veneer

                     feel the blood rush

                     my crashing ocean tide

                     a certain sunlight madness

                     My weakness is my here and now

                     for strength I cast a line

                     desired ever so much

                     The thirst burns constant

                     singes skin, escaping soul

                     consume whole

                                            Touch and see

                                            the color, the story
