Hollow Eyes

Left for "business" in Bangkok
Hub of the eastern world
Join all the tourists
Party with the little girls
Dancing as they sleepwalk
Empty eyes hidden by disco lights
Pranced on the auction block
Hating all the hungry smiles

Mindless of the wooden shacks
Row after endless row
In the shadow of the factories
As open sewerage flows
Ignoring the children's faces
Hope burning in their eyes
Too young to realize
The life of misery drawing nigh

Endless miles of corporations
Built on human blood
As nameless, faceless workers
Are crushed like diamonds in the mud
We expand our operations
Labor comes dirt cheap
No one complains though
A million jobless on the streets

Along the roads, sick and broken
Too weak to use their feet
Holding up their beggar's cup
Praying for enough to eat
Just around the corner
Towers the Shangri-La
The wealthy take their lunch
Poolside to escape the asian heat
