Shades of the Painters

Painters, what a tapestry –
You’ve painted without colors
Lines that bind the faded space
Maliciously dipped brushes
All the wrong darks in the world today

Give us a reason behind the keys
Weathered gray massacres
Strange to see those twisted locks
That wields the painter’s wrist
Unto crippled picture frames

Bright to black as we sing in the ink
Convinced ourselves its picture perfect
Wash it with screams
Dye it with pains
And instill self deception with a fog-like haze

The days were shaded with night
We’ve erased the sketch
The picture was drawn with brilliant mutilation
Painters, what a masterpiece –
You’ve murdered all the colors
