West Gates

I see a man with a woman on his arm
Their love so strong, unbreakable
Headed east towards the rising sun
A new day for a new beginning for both

The man one day finds himself alone
After a but a year of joyful travels
She is gone from your life forever
So I speak to you now Mr. Luedtke, so listen

I find myself quite happy and free
When I once was broken and saddened
Like you are right now Mr. Luedtke
For thirty years I lived this way

Find me where the sun sets forever
And here you will find the solace
That you'll never find in daylight
Come with me to the West Gates

On the other side you'll find peace
And one day you'll see her again
It will be years before you do
And maybe then, she'll thee love again

But until then Mr. Luedtke
You'll only know true endless pain
The heart cannot hurt you Mr. Luedtke
If it does not beat at all
