What Doesn't Kill Us
Secluded in despair with a drowning sensation
Lost within the sharp misery of life
There's a truth to sadness that is unseen
It's not what you have, or what could of been.
Wandering through an abyss of empty feelings
Darkness shadows every ray of hope
Where tears stain the skin of pale cheeks
And the heart poisons the fear it leaks.
Stalked on a dismal path of regret and shame
It doesn't matter how loud you scream,
When you're pushed as low as you can go
The only way left is up you know!
Scarred on the inside where none can see
The deeper the cut, the greater the pain
What you don't know, and takes even longer
Is what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger.
