Wonderfully written poem.  You certainly are a gifted poet.  And, for what it is worth, I agree with you entirely.  In fact, I would go further and say that the U.S. is an imperialistic country.  Just note the hundreds of bases (army, marine, etc.) we have all over the world.  That may not be colinization (perhaps) but this certainly is our way of being imperialistic, to control, to have power, to manipulate, to dominate, etc.  Your grand poem brought out these kinds of sentiments in me.  Thank you.

 It seems that those who know history repeat
it even more viciously.

One thing I find a little paradoxical is:

"until an untimely
death
lays them to sleep
in their own
carnage"
 
If you are talking bout the big-shots,the decision makers no death can be untimely ---

but peeps like us rarely are cold enough when death is concerned. Either that , or we value life so much it would cause us dissonance to slight it , even under these extreme circumstances.

If you are talking about the grunts, the order-followers --
well yeah -- most of them deserve to be cut a little slack.
