A Moonlit Forest

Glittering, resplendent purple skies light up the evening forest.
Streaks of moonlight shine down through the trees,
Lighting some areas, but leaving others at its darkest.
The wind sending a chill filled nightly breeze.

This place feels familiar to you.
You know you have never been here before,
Yet you feel acquainted to this earth coated in a fine layer of evening dew.
The only way to describe this place is to describe what is usually only in folklore

A quiet stream makes its way through the forest; clear enough to see your reflection.
Both large and small woodland creatures filter into your view.
You fear that you will not be here long, for it is only a figment of your imagination.
Two paths to decide from; which shall you choose to walk through?

You follow along the abandoned path you chose, gazing at the luminous full moon in the atmosphere.
Your feet, bare, as you walk on the damp, moss covered forest floor…
Faeries, with their shimmering polychromatic wings, begin to appear.
Their magyk sparkling down upon you, urging you to explore this foreign realm more.

You come across this clearing overflowing with beautiful, scenic flowers.
You pluck one, stroking its colorful petals as you consider frolicking through the seemingly never ending meadow.
Across the night sky, stars twinkle and send a ray of sparkling showers.
When you tire of dancing, you seek shelter from under a blooming willow.

This moonlit forest is picturesque, but you believe it will evanesce with the upcoming dawn.
It is a place to escape from all of life’s struggles and complications…
A place where you seem to be unconsciously drawn,
But the thought of departing deeply frightens.
