That Moment (I loved Him)
We were alone in his room and
He was telling me about his guitar,
And his drawings,
And how his life was hell,
And it was.
He was burning even more than the rest of us,
He was actually
Burning.
For me, the world had been ashes,
Everything slipping through my fingertips:
Empty promises, and my broken heart.
But he, he was actually burning,
Drugs in the family,
And a mom who didn't give a shit
So, he cuts.
And, I just want to make his hurt go away.
That's all I want to do.
As I kiss him gently,
I heal the scars on his wrists and heart,
I attempt to pull away the clouds of his world
So he can see the sunshine for the first time.
And it's late at night,
And I just love him at that moment.
So, I hope he never feels this way again
I hope he never feels this pain again
Because all I want to do is be there for him
And I show him my scars too
And he kisses them goodbye with his eyes and no words
And we kiss again
And I don't know why
But I just loved him at that moment
He was telling me about his guitar,
And his drawings,
And how his life was hell,
And it was.
He was burning even more than the rest of us,
He was actually
Burning.
