My Mortal Path

The shadows seemed so distant within one very present mood,
Of enchantment fallen by the way to which one might allude,
Where acquiescence entails the tale be shivered in the night,
A trance of chanced incessant rant, begone thy hold so tight.

Shattered dreams of ambiance while woven incomplete,
Fill the nights with such despair as hope lies in defeat,
To know the tragic talisman is worn within the soul,
To live and give and choose to lose as life collects its toll.

Spawned of spatial succulence, the trials of heart's content,
Twisted fate of time run out as emotions lay quite spent,
Tawdry tempest, set me free, free me from thy womb,
Rip assunder all as one and lead me to my tomb.

Caustic calm calamity tucked so deep within,
Surrender to the empty folds that squeeze the daunting din,
Random spells the tempt of teasing trails that lead nowhere,
Against all odds there is no chance or any stance to spare.

So reach for me most silent dark, extoll thy perfect light,
For in the blackness I shall reign and disappear from sight,
To surface as familiar feeling something struck a chord,
The angst unravels heir apparent among the sobbing hoarde.

I tip the balance in my mind 'twixt tacet and the screams,
Face the terror that remains the depths of all my dreams,
Undead because the time's not right to write my epitaph,
And tears are dripped along the ground to form my mortal path.
