If I Die Before I Wake

If I die before I wake,
lose my life for no-one's sake,
please don't pity me cos I'm dead,
please don't run the pain through your head,
just release any inhibitions,
and realise this exhibition,
of life is just a passing phase,
and I will see you again,
when you make it through the haze.

Girl of my dreams, the one I love,
the one who when push came to shove,
picked me up, up to my feet,
the one I was so glad to meet,
when I'm gone don't wallow in despair,
just remember that I was always there,
and I will wait for you, it's only fair.

Son, who made me the man I was,
don't feel like you've lost the plot,
for even though I'm not in being,
I am there in a different meaning,
never will you be unguided,
never will you fall into the deep,
so don't you worry, I will keep,
you safe while you go off to sleep.

"Don't pity the dead. Pity the living, and above all, those who live without love." - Albus Dumbledore
