its a good day for devotion
the poor in their best suits
and hair nicely presented,
walking the road, to your house
and in the mercedes,
the rich snob them all
and just show for the sake of showing
coz the rich like to show.
regardless, poor or rich they
all flock to your houses
to remember death.
they sit and listen to the mighty preacher
and sing hyms that exalt your purity,
oh so dogmatic and over dramatic
preacher preacher, our shepard to god
and i, well.. yes i
don't put on my best dress
nor do i tame my careless hair
nor do i flock into your closest home
I don't sit and listen the mundane reparative robotic idiotic voice of the preacher
i don't show my face with pride before the alter
I don't believe that i must prove my devotion
for everyday, I'm in your home, as your home is within me
for everyday i praise you,
and light the candles of peace
for every day is a good day for devotion,
its a good day to remember
how ignorance is the killer,
and how they flocked to witness you die
and chanted words of cruelty
and laughed at your pain
the truth they hath slain
and
as your blood trickled
their hate ate you whole
and gimmicked your soul
and they flocked to see you perish
your death they so did cherish
and thousands of years in the future
they still flock to see you die
they still flock to the false shepard
to hear him lie
like stupid little ignorant sheep
asleep in a false reap
follow the leader
sing along in tune
oh, but i do not flock
i do not follow
and tears how they stream down my face in so much sorrow
for i still cannot forgive

I light the candles for peace
