Go On and Laugh.

A cradle, a lullaby,
why don't you break my heart?
I hate it, I hate how
we are forced apart.

My little girl saw no earth,
never lay beneath a mobile.
No pacifier crossed her lips,
I find that quite noble....

It was brave, I believe,
to have had to have died....
before meeting a soul,
before living a life.

A bottle, a rattle,
rip me some more!
It's not enough that I'm broken,
smash me through the floor!

Everytime I leave the house,
must I glance upon a baby?
Do I have to see some product
that will further slay me?

Remind me again, please!
Dig deeper, the knife.
I don't have a daughter,
still, it feels like I might.
