The Hurt She'll Never Feel.

She would look like you,
and run just as fast.
That time never came, though...
So it won't ever pass.

My daughter had no tears,
and she never got to laugh.
No love, no loss, no lies to hear....
She has nothing but a past.

I never kissed her goodnight,
or rocked her to sleep.
She'll never know I miss her,
or that I'm typing as I weep....

The hair I would've brushed,
and the tears I wished I'd wiped
from the eyes I'll never see,
blinding her premature life.

She knows I messed up once,
but it will never happen twice....
I'll make her a big sister,
and I swear that on my life.

I wonder if she hates me,
for slipping up that day?
Like they make it sound in forwards,
while I didn't push her away.

Della, I write straight to you,
and every word coming up is sincere,
you won't understand it, I know....
Though I'll try to make it clear:

Your toy is in a box,
with a rose made of glass.
It has beautiful colors,
to you it would match.

If you swear not to hate me,
I promise to clean up.
The daughter you never got to be,
doesn't deserve a life so corrupt.
