Thank You, Brilliant Youth

Written for "somebody else" competition.


Your words seem to be much older than you
they tell of pain, sadness and sorrow,
they tell of a life you are too young to endure
and of a girl who has been broken and borrowed.

Your talents are apparent in poetic prose
but it seems that they came with a price,
a costly loss of ideal innocence,
this thieving of sorts, a sad sacrifice.

The darkness can often become overwhelming
but it will never snuff your internal light,
I believe there is an amazing plan for you
and your future will be brilliantly bright.

Your bloody inferno is an independent fight
that i believe you will conquer alone,
it's been my pleasure and honor to receive your words,
thank you for all the bravery you've shown.
