"Vacation"
Vacation
All around looks so proud in the sun
Even the shadows lie clean and defined
As some soul with nothing to hide
And the rhythm of it all carries an unhurried grace
Here where the land meets the sea
Later from the balcony
We watch the evening light peacefully slide
As a sun of richer reds decants itself gently below our horizon,
In such glorious ambience of dappled colours
That we all know so well.
Thorndike wrote of the mind as mans connection system,
He spoke of psychological associations,
Not of ideas but regarding our situations and responses.
And situations such as these,
Never fail to pierce the heart,
For the desire to be in contact with things of majesty and beauty beyond ourselves is most human
And there are never enough moments such as these.
