Through Others' Eyes
Through one’s eye, I am something,
But through another’s eye, I am something different.
Through a casual observer’s eye, I am nothing, but another person in this world,
But through a friend’s eye, I am one that is loved and well-known.
Through an enemy’s eye, I am one that is loathed, despised, and detested,
But through a lover’s eye, I am treasured, precious, and loved.
Through a loved one’s eye, I am someone that is always there,
But through a despised one’s eye, I am only another person that is never there.
Through a vain one’s eye, I am of lower status,
But through the eyes of someone down to earth, I am equal.
Through a teacher’s eye, I am but a student,
But through a small child’s eye, I am the teacher.
I am viewed as many different things in this world by many different people,
But through my own eyes, I am myself and nothing less.
I cannot see myself through others’ perspectives. I can only try.
Looking through others’ eyes helps you understand them and how you look to other people,
Which is why I try to see through others’ eyes...
