I Accept the Whole of Me

I accept the Whole of Me
I accept the beauty of me
my curly hair , dark eyes and wide nose
my thick lips, high cheekbones and dark skin
my thick thighs, narrow waist, small breast and big feet
My mouth, quick with retort slow to repent
My love of soul food, sports, nature and men not all in that order
My amazing mood swings in all of their glory.
I have bad habits and some that are good, did I mention men?
I accept the beauty of me as well I should.

I accept the Whole of Me
My reflection in the mirror staring, smiling, marveling at the whole of me
I’m not what the world sees as beautiful even would label me ugly.
The world doesn’t love the beauty of me; it only sees what it expects to see.
But my outer beauty is not the whole of me, nor this world’s preceded characterization
The image, sparkling in my eyes, staring back at me is the whole of me.
The Spirit that forgives all my fought and supplies all my needs
My true beauty is the Spirit that dwells within the whole of me; for I am, Spirit.
