Tales of a Liar

By: Tara Rickman
I find it hard to think
or even to feel
As if if I say what's on my mind
I'll end up going down hill
Talking to you is like talking to a wall
every time I try to break through I am stalled
You and I were suppose to make it
now I find we cannot even fake it
All the memories we use to cherish
I find myself wishing would perish
All the smiles I wore with you
now seem to make me blue
What we had was something desirable
now I see you and I were impossible
Your lies were white and pure
but they built up and now there's no cure
No cure for us nor for trust
What we had made since to the world
however, now it's gone like a whirl
The words "you" and "I" no longer mean "we"
no longer mean us
no longer mean free
Now they stand for the distance grown between ourselves
just as if our love story was pushed to the back of the shelf
A story that gave hope to the future
can now only be seen in these pictures
These pictures in this box now sitting by a fire
that will soon destroy the tales of a liar
