[You have ten new messages, recieved at 8:12 PM]

She blinked at the little red 10 that glowed yearningly through the plastic machine, then she pressed play and listened.

[. . . I was waiting for you to get home, are you home yet? You're home aren't you? Listening to this, wearing your little fucking shorts and that stupid tight little shirt. But, I ain't mad at you, just. . . You know, pick up your phone. Now.] BEEP

Her breath caught in her chest at the anger and rage that laced the voice, the light in her baby colored eyes dimmed with fear. Feeling like something sick was going to happen in the unknown voice, she continued to listen.

[So, I see you haven't answered my other message or, the door, but I'll be walking around the street waiting for you, like I know you would want me to. Okay? Just. . . Stop ignoring me because it hurts A LOT.] BEEP

Within seconds she was shutting all her shades and locking the doors, windows, anything that could let some type of human inside her house.

Her stomach lurched at the sudden sexual vulgar that was being thrown into the words, still unknowing of the voice that was so angry with her.

She was confused at the desperation that emerged from all that anger and resentment, who was this? She hadn't dated anyone since three years ago and it certainly didn't sound like anyone she knew.

Her eyes widened and she called the police, when she hung up the machine continued playing the messages, she stood back from it but the null of the voice rang softly. She couldn't tell you why she didn't go outside and hide from him, maybe because she didn't know he was watching her every move from the second floor staircase, his beard black as night. The rest of the messages talked about fucking her, the way he would penatrate her insides with a fervor and hot hate.

The police weren't there
he was stalking her like
