11 of course

Leaning in close as though there could be assassins hiding anywhere near by, even though we were sitting
in my small bedroom and the only thing that could possibly hide in here was dust bunnies.
Or possibly Frank the family cat, but somehow I doubted it.

"Because" He began with an elaborate hand gesture as though to set the stage for a full on deep dark secret strewn explanation filled with both double crossing and adventure. "On my way home just yesterday afternoon I spotted a strange man on the train"

I leaned my head back against the bed and smiled staring up at the reflected light on the ceiling as it passed through my bedroom window listening.

"He was an incredible suspicious suspect I thought, so you know what I decided to do?" My friend paused and looked over at me with a meaningful gaze and grinned. "I decided to use all the super secret spy skills that I have acquired over a long list of various deadly and top secret missions."

I couldn't stifle the laughter this time and soon found myself doubled over on the floor in a near fit my sides aching with the disapproving stare of my friend looking me over even as I struggled to regain my composure.

"I don't think you grasp the seriousness of the situation we're involved in here..." He retorted disapprovingly.
"Just for being in the same room as me you could be thought of as a threat and therefore targeted too. don't you see the danger your in right now!"

I tried to fend off another fit of laughter while still keeping up a serious and understanding appearance, it seemed from the look I was getting I wasn't doing a very good job.

"You really are hopeless sometimes, you know that don't you?"
There was a long exasperated sigh and my friend moved from the floor beside me and onto my bed leaning against the wall, I could feel their leg just brushing my shoulder and took a slow breath as my laughter slowly subsided and I wiped the tears from my eyes before rolling over to look up at him imploringly.

"Oh come on... please go on I was really looking forward to hearing your tale of this strange man on the train" pleading with practiced ease I let my head rest against their leg and smiled just a little.

"ok ok... jeez you don't have to beg I'll tell you all about my adventure today before I came over and why at any moment we both might be assassinated"

There was a pause as I let out a gleeful and triumphant shout before climbing onto the bed to lean back against the wall with my friend our feet just dangling over the edge as the sun fell across our legs from the window.

"Well you see it all started when I was heading out this morning, and wouldn't you know it of all the trains I could have gotten on of course I manage to position myself perfectly on the one with the strangest looking guy I have ever seen in my life"

At this point he paused and looked over at me emphasizing the point about just how strange and suspicious looking this guy really was.
I couldn't help but grin at this watching the light that sparkled in his eyes knowing that the real tangent of very interesting and almost to impossible to believe kind of story was about to begin.

And of course the only person who could possibly tell it in his over excitable, fantastic, mad jester fashion was of course my best friend in the entire world and I was eager to hear all about it.
