my
chest
cavernous
still &
still feeling empty
best bet
my need to forget
forgetting what my eyes
what they wanted to remember
my heart
a hole in one
still beating
took
a beating
my dream leaving
left
not right
no love; gone
can’t call it fleeting
more like
self-deceiving
myself
alone
no one else
hers
was a mind
a body of illusion
that’s now my conclusion
love’s vision
a song sung wrong
out of range; now
gone.
