Citrus Criticism
The razor sharp criticism
Cuts the consciousness deep,
as it bleeds green with creativity.
Criticism is the catapult pulled
backwards to throw one forward with
the same intensity.
Criticism is the catalyst of vanity,
chiseling one's custom.

This poem it is absolutely brilliant! You wrote in 2 2/3 stanzas what it took me to say in 13. Criticism is a double edged sword that slices in one direction and cuts in another. The ego, harmed or heightened will react one way or the other.
Having said that, there is one criticism I have on this page, lemons are yellow, not green. Lime is the key... (lol, I was trying to devise some way to say key-lime, but I couldn't design the sentence. ha) This is really an excellent poem, and as I sit here drinking my Mt. Dew, perhaps lemon-lime is just the right compromise to keep the ego from gazing in the mirror of vanity.

Mt. Dew has been my favorite soda since I was a kid. I drank so much I became diabetic and now I have to drink the diet kind.
Well, I wasn't going to mention this, it's a little bit spooky, but if you look between the two front legs of juice squirting from under that lemon, I swear I see a face screaming. Is it me or am I imagining that?
