          and back alleys of frigid city streets

        gathered then reassembled
          in ultra-modern laboratories
funded by the whims of political demigods

          resurrected in corporate battlefields,
   alongside the frankenstein cottages of the world
             
               alongside a desolate countryside
           where too many skeletons
                  hang in its collection of closed closets
and bionic dreamscapes

                       slumbering over greedy gadgets,
        and hypnotic high-tech toys

  littered with dirty laundry lists,
        and soiled tragic satire …

           body parts of a nation
re-enacted into an unrecognizable figure
         
massaging its blueprint heart
             for better or worse

                  into what?
                    who knows?

         assembled in living rooms
                 where the national spirit
