If only you could see me in this dark and dreary night
if only you could shine your love as strongly as you fight
if only it were yesterday, I'd have somewhere to hide
beneath your fabled pity, far beyond the crushing tide

If only there was something i could say to change your mind
if only there was something in me special you could find
if only i had beauty so divine as to your own
I'd ride the clouds of heaven, for I'd never be alone

Perhaps perchance I'll find you, many dusks from this old town
I'll see you there and in it's flare, we'll watch the sun go down
I don't want to stroll forever, up the lonely avenue
like the waves of breaking seas, i just want to start anew

You toll the bells of broken shells, and blow the horn of hope
in the lonely night i hear you, when i find it hard to cope
A frail and withered body, such is mine has never known
