If the voice inside my head
echoes things that you say
What would be the repercussions
and the price I have to pay?
 
For slights that are not intended
mistaken in meaning I may be
Realizing which words describe my essence
go beyond myth to find reality
 
And do I really want to know
full account of perceptions you made
How deep go the probes of character
many layers- how deep do I wade?
 
In the waters and are they cleansing
of nature helping me understand life
Or more like a wound without heal
constant bleeding at the hands of your knife?
 
In the end am I upset at your wording
how I deal with the coming of dawn
Or more disgusted that I responded the way I did
for can I not choose to sing my own song?
 
So not to run from a single angle
of a focus and what one person may see
May or may not accurately present here
