Farewell

confusion
where are we
carnival ride from hell
spinning endlessly
in space
no forward movement
stagnation
starts and stops
just when I think
progress has been made
towards resolution in
our ship
dead in the water
arrested
by the obstinance
both of us
have in abundance
irresistible force meets immovable object
wasting time
relearning each other after every
separation
not of my choosing
because you can’t
handle whatever feelings
your heart holds
hidden within
for me
passion
frightens you terribly
yet that is what i crave
and sense deep within
the dragon’s soul
afraid to
embrace love
sorrow
for the loss of potentiality
love cannot continue
in a vacuum
lacking giving and sharing
my soul shrivels
with absence
of warmth
expectations
dashed on the rocks
of past lives
experience and hurts
too young to know
what it is to be a man
and what a
woman needs
searching
for someone who will desire me
as i desire them
unreservedly giving
of their love
as i share what i have
openly joyously
without rejection
freely
i let go of us
