A Sad Misfortune

Some say, you can still see
The pain in her eyes
Even after all these years
She's been dead for so long

Her expression remains the same
As the day he killed her
The bruises still stain
Her beautifully pale skin

The crimson red river
That flowed from her wrist
Still appears on her flesh
So delicate and perfect

He slit her wrists
He watched her bleed
Then he beat her
Half to death

He hung her to dry
Like a simple painting
He acted as if
A mere toddler had created it

Her eyes open wide,
She still hangs in the forest
Untouched by nature
Such a sad misfortune
