Now isn't that the strangest thing?

When we were all so much younger
We'd fall asleep in the strangest of places
And we'd keep the peace with friends in the strangest of ways
We thought that no one could stop us
But still we used the brakes on our bicycles
Because it was dangerous down the hills we'd roam
To find Where the rest they would play

And as we got older, we lost more sleep and
In the strangest of places we'd daydream
Knowing no one could hurt us
More than we could hurt ourselves
We thought we were invinsible
And when we couldn't keep the peace with friends
We made new ones in the strangest of places
and loved them all in the strangest of ways
Independant adolescents
Attitudes which can't be scaved

And here we are now it's all complicated
Where did all that time go?
Whilst all those friends up and left you
You being one of them people that you used to know
First kiss, first love, first bite
None of it you could've even imagined
When we were all so much younger
And we never would've talked to strangers
Now it all seems second nature
Well isn't that the strangest thing?
