Storms

I love hearing the thunder, and feeling the breeze.
And watching the lightning tickle the trees.
The way you whisper to me,
In this world, I can finally breathe.

I hate how the storms keep me indoors.
I hate how this fighting keeps me from those lips of yours.
I hate the chill, and being soaked to the bone.
I hate how these storms in this life leave me feeling miserable alone.

I love listening to the pouring rain,
I love how the thunder scares away the pain.
I love when you hold me close.
And this wonderful life with you, free of worries and woes.

I hate how the winds blows me away.
I hate how the flowers never stay.
I hate how our tornado of words sting so much.
I hate how the downpour of tears erases your touch.

I love to see strikes of lightning illuminate the sky.
I love the wind, reviving trees, making them fly.
I love kissing you, long and sweet.
The way our lips passionately meet.

I hate how storms make the universe so dark and bare.
I hate the clouds, casting shadows, camouflaging the beauty that is everywhere.
I hate how our storms make me angry and gray
But what I hate the most, is what I cannot say.

I love dancing with the sunshine.
I love singing to the horizon line.
I love to smile at you, in this world of ours.
Laughing and living, on love's mighty towers.

The storms come and go, leaving puddles and debris.
These stormy fights aren’t worth the guilty pleas.
Everyone knows, that after a storm, comes a rainbow.
You and I know, that these storms only help us grow.
