God and his fuckwits
why is it that religion and illiteracy seem to go hand in hand?
almost always spouted by some young man
who hasn’t lived long enough
or travelled wide enough
to know
that what he knows
aint knowledge
not like the stuff they teach in college
but merely a cultural expectation
which, if he was born under the flag another nation
would have led him to feed off the tit of some other religion
and he’d have oh-so-reverently believed that shit
as hard as the shit he thinks he ‘knows’ now
but somehow
they just keep coming on
being wrong
forgetting that the first lesson was love
and if there is a God
above
‘He’ fucked it up
if only because ‘He’ chooses to speak
through the mentally weak
who forget that religion travels with conquerors
and slave traders
so what you are hearing these young men say is
(and here is where the real grey line is)
they love the god that was whipped in to their elders, long dead
when really they should be worshipping another god instead
