Where I live

Butetown in A sense I feel like i'm caved in
The buildings built around us I haven't even been in
Now they find out we live on A goldmine and they want in
But when it had nothing they gave it to ethnic people to live in
I heard development will bring jobs and homes for residents to reside in
But all these presedential suites around us how many off us live there
There beauty don't repersent me
But Tiger Bay is like a fortress and we are the cement
Theres two ways in its like a treanch out in bute street
So safe is our nest and its still the best place
You can tell the outsiders because they walk on tha left side
Theres an invisble law we abide by
We make a carnival on the right side
even though we are lied to we absorb like a wet sponge
Absorbing the negativity rinsing it clean and turning it to positivity

From the fifteenth floor i look pass the brick wall
Where i'm feeling so tall the train tracks look so small
I cant help to feel we were set up to fall
Like a new driver when they stalls
The funny thing is we ain't even new "just ask A seamen"
Retired veterans in the Redsea housewith so many memories from tiger bay
The place that feels so different now but they've decided to stay

Where i've decided to stay
