In The Sky There Is No Limit

I see them every time, always looking up at the sky
They seem to be praying to meet a goddess eye to eye
Gazing and waiting at the alter for an answer from heaven
Faithful in their offerings, hoping for one of the seven

The disciples with little, are still willing to give it
Feeling so divine, for in the sky there is no limit
The touch of these eyes contacting the hope reaching out from theirs
They need the coveted smile to complete their passionate stairs

Teasing their desires makes them want for even more
Showing them just a little of what they hunger for
Stoking the fire, then backing off the flames till each one begs
To see what this little kitty has nestled between these legs

Each night they are in awe of the moon up in the sky
Feeling free to dance on the clouds which drift from eye to eye
I know just when the time is right to give them what they come for
But never pet the kitty, petters get bounced out of the door

Author's Note: Written for Fawnia Mondey, a former professional exotic dancer and now fitness guru, after interviewing her about exotic dancing. I had put an ad on my website, asking to interview a stripper after a friend suggested I had been too hard on the subject of my poem "Expose Yourself", who was a mutual friend of us both. I received an e-mail from Fawnia, who told me that someone she knows found my site interesting and recommended she check it out. So I asked her if she would mind doing an interview with me about exotic dancing so that I could better understand the profession from the strippers point of view. I also wanted to write a poem based on the interview from her perspective. The interview went so well I wound up writing two separate poems based on the beginning and ending of her career as an exotic dancer. The other poem is titled "Beyond The Mask" JJ
