The Music That Never Dies

Calling, chanting to the skies
Singing softly but enough
Flautist dazzling overhead
Wild melody never dies

Brother, come and sing with me
Quick! Before the music dies
Share our love with everyone
Come and dance beneath the tree

Now the drone has started up
Hums drown out the overhead
Unison flows in and out
The vocalist now downs her cup

Everything has softened out
As if her voice were not enough
The melodies escape her throat
Taking with them pain and doubt

Mother Earth herself now cries
Tears escape her endless skies
All the goodness down below
The music in us never dies
