Hipster Bar (East Village)

I went to the bar on Tuesday nite
My skirt was too short
My top was too tight
My lipstick was red
and more was on my teeth
Smoking a cigarette
Staring at my feet

Listening to the hipsters
Talk about nothing
They always do
I see your white light as you cross the street
The music sucks and is way too loud
I order Jack and Coke
And watch you smile, white teeth and golden hair

I feel him looking
So I look to the left
He makes his way over
I keep fixing my top
He has on those boots
You know the ones they wear
the man told me they come in all colors
And they're unisex
I ran out the store

I excuse myself
Have to go to the Ladies Room
I love saying that
The Ladies Room is full of piss, discarded tampoons and whatever else you can find
I read what's written on the stalls
I wish I had my marker
I usually bring one along
and write something really stupid

I will not fight this lonely feeling
And settle for places I'd rather not
be
I would rather be alone
So goodbye hipster town
With your skinny jeans
and unisex boots
You won't even know I was gone
