(Collaboration)

[This is a work that was a collaboration between myself and a poet I coerced here, 2_of_me .  He started it with the first stanza and we just alternated from there.  Structured accordingly.]



Each successive wave
crashes harder on the rocks below until the tide recedes. I will stand
here at the cliffs edge until it does

I stand patiently
waiting for the crashing waves to erode all this proud stone and look
forward to riding the avalanche all the way down, to be swallowed whole by the starving ocean below.
 
As the tide
recedes I'm filled with the feeling of freedom as the jagged rocks below
are exposed.  

My doom
is impending, patiently awaiting my arrival. At least something in this
existence is certain, something can be counted on, something reliable,
...something of comfort.
 
I leap
from my foot hold with arms spread wide. I feel the oceans comforting breeze as the cliffs face passes me by.
 
Wings
would only be a bother now. I'm going someplace of which they can only dream.  This one decision is mine and it's the one thing that nothing and no one can take from me. Rejoice while the thunderous sea still hasn't drowned out what's left of these last moments. Whisper and I'll whisper back a loving, bright soliloquy for no weight now could dare hold down what I have set free. Pull me down. Pull me down.
 
My eyes
are now open as my skull is crushed with pure pleasure. The body follows in tow and I feel every bone break with serenity.
 
No pain
no rush of adrenaline, just endorphins flooding out into the water
spreading wide and concentric, becoming one with all the rest of the fluids
caught in this wild and tumultuous pulse of the earth herself and her patterns
become more beautiful with my color adding to the dyes of the palette of her
art
 
simplicity is so sweet.
