Ocean's Breath

the sky is split as clouds move in
from the west with Sun rising
above the boats, above the hills
above the bay where each tide spills
over shoreline, sand and rocks
the ocean's breathing rising blocks
streams and rivers flowing in
from the mountains' snow melting
rushing back down to their start
molecules merging all a part
all together once again
rising, falling snow and rain -
the ocean's breath in sky above
split once more its endless love
knows no end as it goes on
giving life here and beyond
the mountains, far away
it gives and gives while we're at play
while living lives we come and go
still  ocean breathes, it 's as though
a liquid giant gives us life
gives and gives all through our strife
all through our joy and too our peace
gives to all, gives to the least
and too the mighty as we all change
as we breathe, as we exchange
the ocean's breath, it's what we breathe
when we arrive and when we leave
