viridian
viridian
lushly through hushed slope and stream
down the rushy glade and glen
under our shy shade of the forest
shimmer of grasses and dance of leaves
in darkish and tawny eve we two in bliss upon
the blankets over still quivering earth -
dash of marguerites and poppy reds paint the stage
beneath autumnal tangle of foliage violet-bluish and green
- the stunning fresco extends with blonde and strawberry curls betwixt
and fingers to trace enchantments of skin, the softness and velour moment
of her breast and subtle mouth to kiss -
from the brittle last light of swoonful day down the adjacent
lavender blush of her. here where even echoes subdue,
no motors hum and no lamps do burn - the scene whispers viridian purr
quietly and pure as a flower's circular bloom
- as if somehow to you and i and forever us alone
