The Beach
tall marsh grasses
stood before her
rustling in the mist
sun enveloped in rushing
clouds of moisture
breaking free every now
and then
burning through
the humidity
in flashes of bright light
turning everything golden
and lush all at once
the air heavy
with vapor
she closed her eyes
and drifted along
with the salty breezes
of the ocean
in the distance
the roar and crash of
waves against the shore
absorbing the atmosphere
with every drop of water
upon her skin
wonderfully
drenched in it
stood before her
rustling in the mist
sun enveloped in rushing
clouds of moisture
breaking free every now
and then
burning through
the humidity
in flashes of bright light
turning everything golden
and lush all at once
the air heavy
with vapor
she closed her eyes
and drifted along
with the salty breezes
of the ocean
in the distance
the roar and crash of
waves against the shore
absorbing the atmosphere
with every drop of water
upon her skin
wonderfully
drenched in it
