Sound Expanding

wings are flapping on the water
geese take flight it seems they’ve brought a
symphony of sound expanding
together with a float plane landing

across the bay where traffic’s roar
emerges from where buildings soar
towards the grey sky’s cloudy lowering
obscuring nearby mountains towering

although their presence still is felt
by the sea where feelings melt
dripping from the sky as raindrops
rushing down to sea from hilltops

into the ocean’s breathing out
then breathing in below the shout
of gulls and crows and ferries warnings
tugs and barges, early morning’s

symphony of sounds expanding
together now as we all land in
a time and place we share
every moment everywhere
