Father...

Your the man that they call my father, my Dad
But where were you all those years, did you really not want me that bad?
You left me with so many questions that only a father could answer
So a boy grew up not knowing how to take on life, so unsure
How to treat a girl, take care of the family, be a man
What boy knows how to do this without a guide, a helping hand
You left me with a huge void in my heart and soul, my mind
But now I know who I am, and where's my bottom line
I thank you for leaving as much I hate you for it
Thank you for all the friends I've gained and lessons I've learned
You lost your right to have a say so in my life, it's none of your concern
I know it eats you up inside, how much you missed out on
But it was your decision, now you pay for what you've done
I no longer resent you for the life of unknowing
Because love is all that I'm showing
Hate and anger used to eat me up inside
Skewing my decisions, making me blind
Now I see more clearly since I've forgiven you
Look to the future is all me and you can do
Hope for the best not expecting the worse
Because that is mans only curse
If it weren't for you mother, the Queen of all
I wouldn't be the prince that couldn't fall
