Roam

In the dark and dusty attic
Her memories of him
Nothing less than sporadic

Strewn about in no particlar fashion

She tries them as if theatre costumes
Playing dressup like a little girl
In this least pleasant of backstage dressing rooms

Returning to a simpler day and age when
The men sailed overseas to combat
While the women yearned for them to return home

When the men fought the evils of the world
Wherever these may be at
And the women resisted tempations to stray

The urge to wander
