Looking Glassed, Rabbit Holed
Her voice penned in the journal of my mind
Takes me back to an earlier page and day
One abreft of sunrise or moonset
Bereft of ending and beginning
In most peculiar, abbreviated way
Scribblings of her laughter, ambient
Return me to that unique time and space
Streams of joy dribbling down my cheeks
Heart skipping forward in a three legged race
Since our abrupt parting, dreams there have been
And secrets I've longed to share, withheld
If only there was another chapter to our story
If only the sequel could be wishing welled
One thing leads to another, as always
Another day just came and went
How incredible that seeing your hand writing
Alone is cause for many hours to be spent
Here I stand before the looking glass
Wishing for you to extend your hand through
Ready to push myself as you pull
Waiting for gravity to take its toll
Eager to plunge down that rabbit hole
Once again
Takes me back to an earlier page and day
One abreft of sunrise or moonset
Bereft of ending and beginning
In most peculiar, abbreviated way
Scribblings of her laughter, ambient
Return me to that unique time and space
Streams of joy dribbling down my cheeks
Heart skipping forward in a three legged race
Since our abrupt parting, dreams there have been
And secrets I've longed to share, withheld
If only there was another chapter to our story
If only the sequel could be wishing welled
One thing leads to another, as always
Another day just came and went
How incredible that seeing your hand writing
Alone is cause for many hours to be spent
Here I stand before the looking glass
Wishing for you to extend your hand through
Ready to push myself as you pull
Waiting for gravity to take its toll
Eager to plunge down that rabbit hole
Once again
