Can Tomorrow Come Without You?

Shadows cast across the floor
With reflections of the past
As I watched our love castle turn into sand.

We shared so much together
Laughter . . . fun times . . . tears;
And when you crawled into bed beside me
We lay together
With a sense of you; and a sense of me.

Whatever happened to us?

Our laughter was so sunny and bright
And your face was all I would see.
You once told me you loved me
And that I could believe in you.

Then the clouds started to gather
And darkness spread its wings.
I tried to block out all the pain,
And asked could it be that I’m empty
Or maybe a little lost?
Could it be that I am lonely?

I lie at night and think
Is it me that’s to blame?
Now, I spend each day of my life
With my heart
Shattered and broken  
As I realize how much I miss you
And the love that makes you who you are.

All I do is talk to myself In the mirror,
And try to justify the pain
As I assure myself everything is ok!

But who am I fooling?
For everything in life
There must come a last
So why do I still have these feelings for you?
