Mars needs women*  

 
It's occurred to me  
that if they don't get their war soon  
more people will die needlessly
 
that's to say,  
a whole bunch of people  
are already marked for a bloody exit  
so they might as well
 
get it over with  
 
then the rest of us  
can live with some semblance  
of peaceful prosperity  
for half a century  
 
 
don't get me wrong
 
I'm all for the human rights  
and almost sigh  
when I think about the plight of Gazans  
Malaysians, Ukrainians,  
black Americans, Mexican children, Iraqi Yazidi  
Sudanese, Japanese
 
the fish, the birds, the bees..
