Tree of Life

His body is strong like the mighty oak  
But bends as the willow, his spirit never broke  
   
His arms reach like branches to the heavens  
Touching and embracing the world as we know  
   
His care, like leaves, providing a canopy of safety;    
Where love can unquestionably grow  
   
His heart and mind run deep like vital roots in the earth  
Expanding, growing and welcoming; life’s ever connected rebirth  
   
His knowledge, like seeds, spread in the breeze; whether in light or dark    
Give opportunity for new pathways of growth within my heart  
   
He is new life and old, combined by nature’s perfect harmony  
He is the One who truly sees, understands, and nourishes me.
